ABSTRACT

Assembly agreed on a new resolution, Resolution 1268, on the Implementation

of Decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.2 In the part of the reso-

lution pertaining to Turkey, the Assembly declared that: ‘‘[c]onsidering the high

number of decisions against Turkey that have not been implemented, the

Assembly instructs its Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights to confer

with the national delegation of Turkey and with the Turkish government and to

report to the Assembly, by June 2002 at the latest, on the progress made. The

Assembly envisages inviting the Turkish Minister for Justice to the June part-

session to confer on this matter.’’
