ABSTRACT

As we move through the research process, we write continually. We write to think our way through our ideas, to formulate a research question, or to raise questions about our biases and beliefs. We write to record our findings as we read, conduct interviews, and carry out observations. We write to sort through our findings and make sense of our ideas as we analyze data and uncover themes and subthemes. Writing, in fact, is one of the constants of the research process, and up to now you have no doubt been doing all kinds of writing to develop your thoughts and ideas.
