ABSTRACT
The status of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC)1 in relation to the prevention of bioterrorism is an interesting question. In this chapter the view will be advanced that the relationship between the two is indirect, tangential and incidental. But first the formal history and current legal status of the BWC are summarised.
