ABSTRACT

Conversely, the market of traveling golfers has been steadily increasing. In 1989, there were approximately 8 million golf travelers compared to 10.5 million in 1994, a compound annual growth rate of nearly 6% (National Golf Foundation 1995). Furthermore, golfers who travel on business have been shown to have a greater economic impact on the hotel industry than nongolfers who travel on business. Golfers travel more frequently, stay longer, and spend more money than nongolfing business travelers (National Golf Foundation 1995).
