ABSTRACT
The potential risks associated with the installation of heat-producing appliances in buildings are related to noxious fumes and fire. To combat these problems Requirements J1-J3 seek to provide for sufficient combustion air, the suitable discharge of combustion products and the protection of the building fabric. Requirements J4, J5 and J6, relating to provision of information, liquid fuel storage and pollution, respectively, have been added by the 2002 edition of the Approved Document.
