ABSTRACT

Over the past 20 years exciting new explorations have been taking place in the ®elds of neurobiology, attachment theory, and trauma research. Out of the convergence of studies in these formerly disparate domains, a new paradigm for understanding and treating psychopathology is emerging. As Jungians, our challenge is not only to rethink our theories and practices in the light of these latest scienti®c discoveries, but also to join the discussion that is taking place in the larger psychological community; a discussion in which researchers such as Jean Knox (2003), and Margaret Wilkinson (2006a, 2006b) already have begun to participate.
