Appendix: A note about writing applications for financial support

Each organization that provides funding for research has its own specifications for grant applications and these specifications can be quite complicated. Nonetheless, you will find that much of the advice in the main body of this book is as relevant to writing a grant application as it is to writing a paper. Thus, if you are about to write a grant application, you should reread Chapters 2 through 8 at least.
