ABSTRACT

There are no set stages or tasks that need to be worked through or accomplished. We merely need to live the experience (Schuurman, 2003).

That experience will greatly differ, from the loss of a distant relative who was expected to die to the loss of a child. The depth of meaning and degree of loss is not comparable. Both are a loss, and both will in a greater or lesser degree affect the meaning of our lives. And, both are a part of life.
