ABSTRACT
The listener nanced Paci ca Foundation began its radio operations in 1949, when it signed on KPFA in Berkeley California. Fifty years later, Paci ca owned and operated additional radio stations in New York (WBAI), Los Angeles (KPFK), Washington (WPFW), and Houston (KPFT) and supplied national programming to about seventy- ve other non-commercial “community” or public radio stations throughout the country.
