ABSTRACT

It is quite difficult to have no training, because anyone venturing into the world of professional acting will almost certainly has attended some kind of class or instructive tuition. However, it is not absolutely necessary to spend a colossal amount of money on training at a drama school or spend a long time at a university. It is possible to enter the profession without any formal training, but it is unlikely that one would even wish to become an actor unless he/she had experience of performing somewhere. Amateur dramatics is another opportunity, and there is the world of summer stock, summer festivals, and community theatres to find out if this is what one wants to do with the rest of his/her life. There are many examples of very successful actors who did not arrive by way of the training route, and as long as they wish to improve and develop, they will be fine.
