ABSTRACT

Actors always upstage actresses, in the most literal sense of the word. They do not seem to be aware of this, so it is not a conscious decision-but they do it all the same. Director supposes it is something to do with actors inbuilt instinctive natures, because they see it happening everywhere. Actor has always called oneself an actress, and unless they change their sex, will continue to do so. Actor noticed a few years ago that them, and those of their gender, were being referred to as actors. Those advocating this change would give other examples such as doctors, barristers, vicars, teachers, and plumbers. Actors are sometimes very ready to give notes to actresses but not so ready to receive them. A slight error by an actress will be immediately pointed out and an apology expected, but when the man goes wrong it is often laughed off by him as perhaps an improvement on the performance.
