ABSTRACT
Myers was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He speaks of his adoptive parents fondly; the Dean family adopted him informally after his mother’s death. He attended City College in New York City and received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Empire State College in 1984. In 1981, he received a fellowship from the New Jersey State Council of the Arts; in 1982, a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts.
