ABSTRACT

“In my opinion, there is a void in the realm of literature for Black children, for example, the absence of ‘fun to read books.’ I think it will be fun to tell stories like in the good old days. Children like to be entertained as well as allowing them to use their imaginations when stories are told. As a child, I enjoyed listening to stories that stretched my imagination—stories that drew wonderful, colorful pictures in my mind. I also think that women are not represented enough as heroes.
