ABSTRACT
Woods was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but grew up in Los Angeles, California. When approached by an English professor, during her sophomore year of college, who encouraged her to pursue a career in writing or English, she declined. Instead, she chose a career in the health sciences and holds a BS in community health from California State University, Northridge and a certificate in physical therapy from the same institution. She has worked as a physical therapist for nearly twenty-seven years.
