ABSTRACT

Yes, of course many students fi nd examinations a strain – and this is certainly not limited to dyslexic students. However, our evidence shows that you should expect to succeed.

Statistics were collected on the performance of dyslexic students at Bangor during a three-year period (note 18.1). They numbered 196, though this fi gure does not include the 22 who left college before their fi nal year or took time out: 188 successfully obtained degrees; fi ve sat the examination and failed, while three left college during their fi nal year. This represents a 95.9 per cent success rate. During this three-year period, one dyslexic student obtained fi rst-class honours while 74 obtained upper-seconds.
