ABSTRACT

The earlier editions of this book were concerned to urge ‘that as a matter of policy all Examining Boards will be willing to treat dyslexic candidates as “special cases”’. Dyslexic students now have the protection of the law to ensure that reasonable adjustments are made to the learning and assessment processes (see Chapter 5). The most commonly arranged adjustments for examinations are described in Chapter 17. A dyslexic student arriving at college with an up-to-date and relevant assessment report will not usually fi nd that there are any problems with the implementation of the report’s recommendations for examination adjustments.
