ABSTRACT
Nepali is the national language of the Kingdom of Nepal. It is also employed widely in other parts of the Himalayas, both as a first language and a lingua franca, and by a small but growing Nepali diaspora throughout the world. Since 1992, it has been included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, making it one of the official languages of India.
