ABSTRACT
There is no doubt about the high importance of assessment for all students, and the particularly vital role it plays for international students and their teachers. Assessment is an important basis of esteem and the key measure of success; it determines progression and ultimately graduation, while providing students and tutors alike with vital information about students’ developing understanding and skills. For international students who have made significant financial, emotional and family commitments to studying overseas, the assessment stakes can be particularly high.
