ABSTRACT
How can performance measurement be a lively activity? A first step is tolerating variety. Anyone who tolerates variety in performance measurement (see Chapter 6) recognizes that one performance may be viewed from multiple perspectives and can therefore have more than one meaning. This will increase the liveliness of performance management.
