ABSTRACT
From time to time people have had to change their fundamental assumptions about the world. Einstein’s theory of relativity transformed the understanding of the universe, and the discovery of DNA revealed the code that determines human development. These revolutions offered new theories, developed from scientific experiments or mathematics, and they led to quite unexpected outcomes – such as black holes and genetic engineering. There is another such revolution under way that will alter our conventional assumptions: discovering how to make minds.
