Selection of research areas

After the broad discussion of theoretical and indigenous conceptual aspects of informal institutions and networks in the preceding chapters, we will now turn the focus of the discussion to the fi eld survey. This will start in this chapter with an introduction to the research areas. More specifi c analyses of different issues will follow in Chapters 5 to 8; the fi nal chapter, Chapter 9, draws the conclusions to the research.
