As it turned out, they didn’t even get a couple of months. On 26 July the couple boarded the S. S. Queen at Liverpool and headed back to America with a company of which only Beckett, Edouin, and the supporting Kate Heathcote had been with them before. But, doubtless due to the reputation and money won by those who had gone with them on previous occasions, they had some fine artists along with them, including the two best vocalists the company had featured to date.
