ABSTRACT
What is a camera? At first glance, the answer seems obvious. We know perfectly well what a camera is. But then again, perhaps the confidence with which we answer should cause us to hesitate. One of the lessons Noam Chomsky teaches (with respect to the concept of “grammatical”) is that some of the most important things to analyze and explicate are precisely our intuitions — those beliefs that appear self-evident and certain.
