ABSTRACT

It is not usual for a psychotherapist to draw (Winnicott, 1971) while he listens to the patient nor to send the patient a letter afterward (White & Epston, 1990). It is not essential to the method advocated in this text, yet I find it helpful, and I will explain why in this brief chapter. As with Winnicott (1971), I find it a natural extension of psychodynamic thinking.
