ABSTRACT
Comparisons between Individual Psychology and other schools of thought help to clarify the fundamental principles of Individual Psychology. Maddi (1978) calls attention to points of similarity and difference between Existential and Adlerian theory. Some of his conclusions are inaccurate, however, and convey an erroneous view of Individual Psychology. The points at which Maddi misinterprets Individual Psychology will be identified and discussed in this paper. Maddi’s conclusions will be re-evaluated in light of these corrections.
