ABSTRACT

In June, 2003, British drug regulators warned that paroxetine causes depressed children to become more suicidal and should not be prescribed for them.1 Six months later, the ban was extended to all but one selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). The exception was fluoxetine (Prozac). Then, in September 2004, it was reported that the risk of suicide was increased by fluoxetine as well.
