What Is Love? Life would be so much easier if love were always rational and predictable: You nd the right person, you fall in love, you treat each other with respect, tenderness, and caring, and you live happily ever after. Unfortunately, love is not rational. Love does not always live up to expectations. Love isn’t even always based on how you are treated. Love is a very rich, complex, and often puzzling set of emotions and behaviors. People often fall in love without really knowing everything about their partner, without knowing for sure how they will be treated. And once in love, people nd that “falling out of love” can be very difcult.
