ABSTRACT
This book is an analysis of various phenomena affecting both stressed and unstressed vowels. Modelling these systems has been made possible by applying methods and concepts from Optimality Theory (Prince and Smolensky 1993, McCarthy and Prince.1993) and its following developments (McCarthy and Prince 1995, Beckman 1998).
