ABSTRACT

The movement goals of Breaking the Silence and Ending Psychiatric Oppression have been explored historically in chapter three; their development through expressions of individual resistance were described in chapter four. The purpose of this chapter is to illustrate the expression of movement goals in the campaigns and initiatives that are part of the everyday life and the special events of the movement. A sampling of movement activities reveals a variety of efforts and strategic choices that work toward the same goals and express the same themes, related to coming to voice and talking back to psychiatry within the solidarity of the larger movement.
