ABSTRACT
It would be useful to open the question of the possible intersections of aesthetics and art history by clarifying the notion of “aesthetics,” as it has a number of meanings including, in Mediterranean countries, the work of beauticians. In our context, aesthetics has two significantly different meanings: it is an academic discipline and a domain of experience.
