ABSTRACT

Blackberry Hill is a purpose-built primary co-educational day school for children with learning difficulties (moderate, severe, profound and multiple). Some of the children also have autism. Blackberry Hill has 96 places for pupils and has a total of 39 staff: a head teacher, deputy head teacher, thirteen teachers and 24 special support assistants. There are also a number of additional support staff, nurses, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists who work in the school. Indeed, the school works in a multi-disciplinary setting, with professionals from Health, Social and Psychological Services and other voluntary bodies.
