ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the specifi c fi eld of global education through examples of its evolution taken mainly from the UK. In particular it looks at three curriculum initiatives that have been infl uential in developing awareness of the need for a global dimension in the curriculum. It goes on to support a fourfold model of global education which identifi es the interrelated elements that need to be present to constitute good practice in the classroom.
