ABSTRACT

Recent educational initiatives and government policies have begun to highlight what have been often neglected issues associated with the education of the nation’s children. Chief among these have been issues associated with the development of thinking skills and, in particular, the notion of ‘creativity’ as part of the thinking process. This reviving of interest in these areas has happily coincided with the increasing use of, and skill acquisition in, the area of information and communication technology (ICT) within and across the curriculum. It is therefore opportune to consider the ways in which our children’s creative thinking capacities can be enhanced, developed and extended through the use of some of the more easily accessible aspects of ICT.
