The term 'mind mapping'@ was ftrst used in 1974 by Tony Buzan in his book and the BBC television series Use Your Head. However, it has taken some time for it to be accepted in education.
The method of mind mapping uses the whole brain, with a bias towards the right brain, 'whole picture' thinking process. It is highly visual and uses key words and pictures to recall information. Different colours and symbols can also be used, making it an ideal technique for dyslexic students. Mind mapping can be used by teachers and students alike.
