ABSTRACT
Since the Second World War, France’s security strategy has been the result of an unfailing anchorage in the West, its alliances and values, and a certain propensity to cultivate independence and non-alignment vis-à-vis the American superpower. France’s foreign and defence policies lie at the junction of these two fundamental features.
