ABSTRACT

This book, dealing with contemporary geographical issues and politics of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, is an attempt to describe current events against the background of the geographical space in which they took place, and is based on the follow-up, record, and study of the main events that have occurred between 1967 and the first years of the twenty-first century. The book explores methodically the policies, facts, and figures from the perspective of geography, and offers a clear presentation of data that everybody should be aware of. The point of departure in this book is professional and pragmatic, with a study of the land and how it is affected by human beings, and, in this case, how the activities of various Israeli authorities have affected the territories occupied in June 1967, in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
