ABSTRACT
In early summer – suddenly, war! Although for three weeks before the outbreak of hostilities the atmosphere had been growing increasingly ominous, the war itself was totally unexpected. Neither side had planned it for that particular time and none of those caught up in it had wanted it. And yet, as events occurred in rapid succession and at a dizzying pace, all the participants were swept helplessly into the vortex.
