ABSTRACT
My feminist project over the last three years has been to interject the reality of violence against women into the dominant discourse on AIDS, women’s health, and international family planning. My overall aim has been two-fold: to improve public health policy by making it more reflective of the reality of women’s lives, and to marshal some of the resources and technical know-how of the international health community to assist women’s organizations fighting gender violence in the developing world.1
