ABSTRACT
Environmental degradation in China remains serious despite major efforts at conservation and clean-up in recent years. Some rivers are unable to sustain any form of life. Air pollution during the winter in northern cities has caused the sky to go black. China’s carbon emissions are climbing rapidly. Noise levels in cities remain extremely high.
