ABSTRACT

What follows is the short summary article, ‘Assessment for learning: what it is and what research says about it’, which provides background to assessment for learning research and practice. It will be useful for anyone who leads professional development in this area as it provides more detail on the slides that are used in the presentation (see pages 15-18). As mentioned earlier, INSET leaders may choose to give copies to teachers to read either before or shortly after the first session in the professional development programme they plan.
