ABSTRACT
Proteins are synthesized from the information contained within the gene; as a result they have a different content of charged, hydrophobic and total amino acids. All proteins possess these physical properties and the differences in these parameters can be exploited to purify proteins. Proteins are synthesized for a unique cellular role and this property can also be exploited to purify a protein from a complex mixture.
