ABSTRACT
The notion of primitivism is inseparable from the question of colonialism.
Considering that one of the main strategies of colonialism consists of con-
structing rationalized cultural identities of the colonized Other through which the
self can be understood and emerge as superior, primitivization lies at the core of
colonialism and the colonial enterprise.
