ABSTRACT

One aspect of the reality of the text particularly difficult for the child to grasp is the concept of the creator – the roles of the writer and the illustrator. The role of illustrator is the easier to grasp, so precedes that of author (which is covered in Chapter 7). First, however, we must examine the concept of the creator generally, because the author/illustrator’s name was the first identification acquired. The roles of writing and drawing in the environment are also relevant.
