ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on expatriate Japanese wives in the UK. It uses the
perceptions of women themselves to argue that use of the East-West
dichotomy is at best inappropriate and at worse destructive. It also proposes
that in developing identities as global citizens, these women are in fact
paving the way for a world where this is recognised.
