ABSTRACT

M ANY WOMEN FACE A CRISIS when they find themselves preg-nant again. They may panic when even contemplating a pregnancy. One thing to do is to plan ahead to make this birth as different as possible from the last. It is usually wise to switch to a different hospital, or from obstetrician to midwife care, to seek a one-to-one relationship with the midwife and, if this is unlikely to be a high-risk birth, to consider a birth centre or home birth. If you have a chance to do so, shop around. This is your body, your baby and your birth.
