ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the values and principles underlying European Union
(EU) global environmental policy. This is contrasted with the United States (US),
although the EU remains our primary focus. Global environmental policy refers
to policy responses to environmental issues with global effects, which are man-
aged through international regimes.
