ABSTRACT

It has already been stated that good relations between you and your middle/senior managers is a key to practical survival in difficult schools. This may not be easy to achieve where tension and stress rise from the need to consume your own classroom smoke and where the high volume of confrontation with pupils is stretching every level of the teaching and management structure. However, progress up the ladder can only happen if you maintain good relations with those who have managerial roles – especially at the highest level.
