ABSTRACT

Having dealt with the empirical world of the perceiving conscious entities (dṛk), Madhusūdana next concerns himself with the contents of their experience (dṛsya). Madhusūdana, in his Siddhanta-bindu, 455 has enumerated the views of the various VaiṣṆava sects and of the Pasupatas concerning the status of the empirical world. This is interesting for our purpose of recounting how Madhusūdana, a great devotee of Lord KṛṣṆa, refuted the theistic view of the reality of the created world.
