ABSTRACT

Feminist interpretation is one of the most recent approaches that have developed to interpret the Bible. Although there were previous writings, the feminist approach emerged during the late 1960s and early 1970s because of the modern women’s movement. Although there are many definitions of feminism they have a common theme of a movement for social, economic, political, and religious equality, and rights of women. This drive for equality focuses on the struggle of women against domination, exploitation, and oppression. This definition creates the foundation for feminists to make their own interpretations and approaches to the Bible and ultimately provides the goal that they hope to achieve.
