Read through all of your notes and filter out any that don’t make very much sense. Put a note on each page of these notes to remind you what the nature of the problem is – for example, poor handwriting or the fact that you did not understand the topic your notes are intended to cover. Now try to organise the rest into topic areas that you think match in some way the contents of the unit(s) for which you are revising. If you are using an A4 loose-leaf folder, coloured dividers may help you do this. Later in this chapter where we look at the two AS exams we suggest the sorts of headings that you might find it useful to use for organising your notes. Once you have undertaken this basic organisational exercise, it is time to stand back and take stock. One thing that your notes will tell you is what kind of student you are.
